Dear Colleagues,
On the occasion of the upcoming international scientific-practical conference “Caspian Meetings 6,” to be held on June 27–28, 2026, under the auspices of the Azerbaijan Society of Gastroenterology and Invasive Endoscopy, I would like to draw your attention to several important points.
This event was originally established in memory of the late Professor Ismayil Abbasov, as a small-scale scientific conference for the local gastroenterology community. Over time, thanks to the scientific interest of participants and the support of our society, it has expanded and evolved into a prominent international scientific platform.
We are proud that this year’s meeting will host distinguished scientists and experts from various countries, including Turkey, Latvia, Russia, Europe, and the United States. The primary objective of the conference is to create an innovative academic environment that enables the sharing of the latest global advances in gastroenterology with local physicians and fosters discussion of contemporary trends in the field.
It is particularly noteworthy that the timing of this event, immediately following Digestive Disease Week (DDW)—one of the most prestigious gastroenterology conferences held annually in the United States—will allow for the immediate dissemination and discussion of key topics presented at DDW on the Baku platform. This provides not only scientific agility but also facilitates the more rapid integration of our local specialists into global expertise.
I am confident that “Caspian Meetings 6” will once again demonstrate that Azerbaijan is becoming an important hub in the region for scientific dialogue and professional exchange.
